Pfarrkirche Roßbach
- All weather
In 1794, Josef Gast from Wippenham installed an organ, which was replaced by a new one in 1936. The Gothic altar was removed in the mid-1800s and replaced by a neo-Gothic one.
In 1967, the altar was completely removed during the renovation and only a popular altar was installed.
During the last renovation in 1998, the church was completely refurbished (inside and out). Drainage, exterior façade, tower roof, interior plaster, painting and several old figures and statues were renovated and reinstalled. The oldest surviving stone relief in the church is Christ's shroud - walled in at the side of the ambo and dating from the 15th century. There are other valuable old, very skilfully carved stones on the outside wall of the church. They used to be in the church - inlaid in the floor as tombstones of the lords of Roßbach and Grünau.
There is also a Zürn Madonna in the church, which comes from Mühlheim. A long time ago, this was moved from the Heimkehrerwald chapel (due to thefts in the area) to the church and has found a very beautiful place here.
